Exam Guidelines, Policies & Code of Conduct
Terms & Conditions, Policies, and Rules for Language Proficiency Tests
Welcome to Shaheda Akter Chowdhury’s Language Proficiency Test Services. We are committed to providing a professional, structured, fair, and respectful assessment environment.
By registering for, paying for, or participating in any language proficiency assessment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with these Terms & Conditions, Assessment Guidelines, and Student Code of Conduct.
Our language proficiency assessment services are offered through Shaheda Akter Chowdhury’s Educational Platforms, including Shaheda Bengali Paradise, Shaheda English Paradise, Shaheda Education Adventure, and Shaheda Polyglot Year, depending on the language and assessment service selected.
These policies are intended to protect the integrity of the assessment process and ensure a respectful experience for all participants.
1. Eligibility
Our language proficiency assessments are open to learners of different ages and proficiency levels, subject to the requirements of the selected assessment.
Participants must:
- Have the necessary device and internet connection to complete an online assessment.
- Be able to understand the instructions provided for the selected assessment.
- Provide accurate information during registration.
- Follow all assessment instructions and conduct requirements.
- Participate using their own identity and information.
Additional requirements may apply to specific assessment types.
2. Service and Certificate Affiliation
The institution or educational platform associated with an assessment may vary according to the language and service selected.
- Bengali assessments may be issued under Shaheda Bengali Paradise.
- English assessments may be issued under Shaheda English Paradise.
- Assessments in other languages may be issued under Shaheda Education Adventure or Shaheda Polyglot Year.
The applicable institution or platform will be identified during the assessment process and on the certificate issued to the successful candidate.
3. Assessment Options
Participants may select an individual assessment or a Full Assessment, depending on the language and service available.
Individual assessments may include:
- Reading
- Writing
- Listening
- Speaking
The Full Assessment combines all four core language skills.
Each assessment evaluates only the skills included in the selected assessment.
4. Assessment Scope
A certificate represents the specific assessment that the student successfully completed.
For example, a certificate stating “Hindi Reading Proficiency Assessment” represents the student’s demonstrated performance in the reading assessment. It does not automatically represent the student’s speaking, listening, or writing ability.
Similarly, a certificate issued following the Full Assessment represents the result of the four assessed components included in that examination.
This distinction ensures that certificates accurately reflect the scope of the assessment completed.
5. Pricing and Payment
Assessment prices may vary according to the language, assessment type, service structure, and applicable promotional pricing.
Current prices and available discounts are displayed on the relevant Language Proficiency Test page.
Promotional prices may be offered for a limited period or limited number of bookings and may be changed or withdrawn when applicable.
Payment must be completed according to the instructions provided during registration.
6. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Assessment fees are generally non-refundable once an assessment booking has been confirmed.
This includes situations such as:
- A student deciding not to participate after booking.
- Failure to attend the scheduled assessment.
- Failure to complete the assessment.
- Disqualification because of cheating, misconduct, plagiarism, unauthorized assistance, or violation of assessment rules.
- Receiving a score below the minimum qualifying score for certification.
Where an assessment cannot be conducted due to circumstances attributable to the assessment provider, an appropriate alternative arrangement may be offered.
7. Scheduling and Attendance
Assessment scheduling is arranged during the booking process.
Students are expected to attend at the confirmed date and time.
Once an assessment has been confirmed, student-requested rescheduling may not be permitted.
Failure to attend the scheduled assessment, arriving too late to reasonably complete the assessment, or failing to follow the scheduled assessment procedure may result in the loss of the booking without refund.
If an assessment must be rescheduled because of circumstances attributable to the assessment provider, an alternative arrangement will be communicated to the student.
8. Certification Criteria
Certification is based on the student’s final assessment score.
| Final Score | Achievement Level | Certificate |
|---|---|---|
| 60–69% | Gold | Gold Certificate |
| 70–79% | Platinum | Platinum Certificate |
| 80–100% | Diamond | Diamond Certificate |
Students who receive a score below 60% do not qualify for a certificate under the current certification structure.
The student’s actual final percentage is displayed on the certificate together with the applicable achievement level.
9. Student Code of Conduct
All students are expected to maintain a respectful, professional, and appropriate standard of conduct throughout the assessment process.
Students must behave respectfully toward examiners, evaluators, staff, and other participants.
The following conduct is prohibited:
- Profanity or abusive language.
- Harassment, threats, intimidation, or disrespectful behavior.
- Offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate communication.
- Deliberately disruptive behavior.
- Asking inappropriate or irrelevant questions during an assessment.
- Any conduct that compromises the dignity, safety, or integrity of the assessment environment.
Serious Misconduct and Immediate Ban
The institution maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward serious misconduct.
Where a student’s behavior is considered seriously inappropriate, abusive, threatening, dishonest, disruptive, or fundamentally inconsistent with the standards expected of a student, the institution reserves the right to:
- Immediately terminate the assessment.
- Disqualify the student.
- Forfeit the applicable assessment fee.
- Immediately ban the student from participating in future assessments or services offered through the institution.
- Refuse future applications or bookings from the student.
A serious violation may result in an immediate and permanent ban without further opportunity to participate.
The decision to take such action will be based on the seriousness and circumstances of the conduct.
10. Academic Integrity and Cheating
Assessment integrity is essential.
Students must complete assessments independently unless an assessment explicitly states otherwise.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- Cheating.
- Receiving unauthorized assistance.
- Collaborating with another person during an individual assessment.
- Using unauthorized materials or resources.
- Plagiarism.
- Impersonation or allowing another person to complete an assessment on the student’s behalf.
- Attempting to manipulate, circumvent, or interfere with the assessment system.
- Sharing assessment content or answers for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage.
Any attempt to compromise the integrity of an assessment may result in immediate disqualification, forfeiture of the assessment fee, and a permanent ban from future participation, depending on the seriousness of the violation.
11. Assessment Structure and Process
Reading, Writing, and Listening
These assessments are conducted online using the designated assessment platform.
Students must follow all instructions provided before and during the assessment.
Where applicable, assessments may use time limits, controlled question presentation, randomized questions, or other measures intended to support assessment integrity.
Speaking
The Speaking Assessment is conducted live, one-on-one with an evaluator.
Students must:
- Join the session at the scheduled time.
- Use a suitable environment for the assessment.
- Maintain professional and respectful conduct.
- Follow the examiner’s instructions.
Serious misconduct during a Speaking Assessment may result in immediate termination and disqualification.
12. Technical Requirements
Students are responsible for having the necessary technical equipment and environment to participate.
For online assessments, students should have:
- A stable internet connection.
- A compatible computer, tablet, or smartphone where applicable.
- A functioning browser.
- Adequate audio equipment for listening and speaking assessments.
- A suitable environment free from unnecessary distractions.
Google Chrome may be recommended for certain online assessments where applicable.
For live Speaking Assessments, students should have a functioning microphone, camera where required, and a quiet environment with adequate lighting.
13. Results and Certificate Delivery
After completion of the assessment, the student’s responses or performance will be evaluated according to the requirements of the selected assessment.
The final score will determine whether the student qualifies for certification and, where applicable, the corresponding achievement level.
Successful candidates will receive their certificate electronically after the assessment and evaluation process has been completed.
Certificates may include:
- Student name
- Assessed language
- Assessment type
- Final percentage score
- Achievement level
- Certificate ID
- Date of issue
- Authorized signature
- Verification information
14. Certificate Verification
Certificate authenticity may be verified by contacting the institution with the relevant certificate information.
A verification request may require information such as:
- Certificate ID
- Student name
- Assessed language
- Assessment type
- Date of issue
The institution will verify the certificate against its available records and confirm whether the certificate was genuinely issued.
15. Assessment Quality and Evaluation
We aim to maintain a structured and fair assessment process.
Our assessments are designed to evaluate the specific skills included in the selected assessment.
Evaluation may consider factors appropriate to the assessment type, including:
- Accuracy
- Comprehension
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
- Written expression
- Pronunciation
- Fluency
- Clarity
- Communication ability
The applicable evaluation criteria may vary according to the language, assessment type, and level being assessed.
16. Technical Problems and Liability
Students are responsible for ensuring that their own device, internet connection, browser, microphone, camera, and other required equipment are functioning properly.
The institution is not responsible for problems caused solely by:
- The student’s internet connection.
- Device malfunction.
- Incompatible software or hardware.
- Power failure affecting the student’s location.
- Problems with the student’s browser or device.
- Other technical circumstances outside the institution’s reasonable control.
Where a technical problem originates from the assessment provider or its designated assessment system, an appropriate solution or alternative arrangement may be considered.
17. Force Majeure
An assessment may occasionally be delayed, interrupted, or rescheduled because of circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, major technical failures, widespread service interruptions, emergencies, or other unforeseen events.
Where such circumstances occur, the institution will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative arrangement.
18. Modification of Terms and Policies
Shaheda Akter Chowdhury and its associated educational platforms reserve the right to update or modify assessment rules, pricing, services, procedures, and policies when necessary.
Updated policies will be published on the website where appropriate.
Students are responsible for reviewing the applicable policies before booking or participating in an assessment.
The terms applicable to an assessment may depend on the policies in effect at the time of booking.
