Today’s Hindi Word: थका (Thaka)
English Meaning
थका (Thaka) means tired.
However, this word is much more than simply feeling physically exhausted.
Native Hindi speakers use it to express emotional, mental, and physical tiredness depending on the situation.
Pronunciation
Hindi:
थका
Roman Transliteration:
Thaka
Try saying it slowly.
Tha-ka
Repeat it several times until it feels natural.
Correct pronunciation is one of the fastest ways to sound more confident when speaking Hindi.
What Does थका Really Mean?
Many beginners think “tired” only refers to working too much.
In everyday Hindi, थका can describe many different experiences.
For example, you might feel:

Important Grammar Tip
One thing every beginner should remember is that Hindi changes according to gender.
For example:
- थक गया हूँ → used by a male speaker
- थक गई हूँ → used by a female speaker
